Vitallo Handseam

The most durable and fundamental connection in the field of shoemaking is the seam. The seam resists high stress, and yet allows for maximum flexibility that results in longevity. Here at Vitallo, we endeavor to use only the highest quality components - this also includes the manufacturing processes. For this reason, at each Vitallo a seam connects the upper with the midsole. Setting the seam is made more complicated by the nature of the material, such as leather and the three dimensional shape of the upper. It requires a special, yet ubiquitous tool to set this seam correctly: the human hand. Only man is capable of dealing so artfully with the different materials, estimating each stitch, and using the right amount of force in order to create an optimal connection.
