Passion in ShoeMaking.

History

"The art of shoemaking came to us while in the cradle." This is how the youngest generation in our family describes their connection to shoe making. The Hackner shoe manufactory was founded in 1948, when master shoemaker Fritz Hackner settled in the small, picturesque town of Hilpoltstein. Fritz was specialized in making traditional double-stitched shoes by hand. His son, Friedrich Hackner took over the company in 1977 and created the Vitallo brand in 1988. Ever since its inception, Vitallo has been a synonym for exclusive footwear. Friedrich went on to develop the advanced Climatocork interior - it is a unique interior made of natural cork and leather that maintains an ideal climate and breathability within the shoe. He has been joined by his wife Brigitte Hackner who also comes from a rich lineage of traditional shoemakers. Michael and Stefan Hackner represent the third generation of shoemakers in the family. Since 2006, they have brought their creativity into the family business. They have complemented the Vitallo collection by new, dynamic design lines while creating new possibilities in the area of made to measure shoes: luxurious, custom made footwear for sports and leisure combined with the characteristic designs that are unmistakably Vitallo.
